The Schlegel Laboratory brings in a diverse group of faculty members and researchers – each bringing their unique gifts and talent to the lab.
The Center for Cell Reprogramming (CCR) is where investigators near and far will meet to discuss how to test and bring to clinic a multidimensional approach to precision medicine that had previously been impossible to achieve. Specifically, it will enhance intramural and extramural collaborations and communications with world-class university scientists and their research interest in stem-like cells for the purpose of education and development.
CCR will drive personalized medicine to a new level by establishing and communicating a new paradigm for researchers around the world working with embryonic stem (ES) cells, induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and conditionally reprogrammed cells (CRCs) for the study of disease initiation, progression and treatment.
